Singer - Pop Star Michael Jackson converts to Islam

Pop singer Michael Jackson has converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel.

The 50-year-old star, pledged his allegiance to the Koran in a ceremony at a friend's mansion in Los Angeles, the Sun reported.

Jackson sat on the floor wearing a tiny hat after an Imam was summoned to officiate -- days before the singer is due to appear at London's High Court where he is being sued by an Arab Sheik, the paper said.

The star decided to adopt the new religion while he was recording a song at the home of his friend where a Jehovah's witness was brought up to help him through the ceremony.

Apparently the star of hits like 'the Way You Make Me Feel-was convinced by his producer and songwriter friends David Wharnsby and Phillip Bubal.

"They began talking to him about their beliefs, and how they thought they had become better people after they converted. Michael soon began warming to the idea.

"An Imam was summoned from the mosque and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief," the source revealed.

Mikaeel is the name of one of Allah's angels.

"Jacko rejected an alternative name, Mustafa meaning "the chosen one", the source added.

The singer, who rarely ventures out without a mask, is due to give evidence on Monday in a 4.7 million pound lawsuit brought by Prince Abdulla Al-Khalif of Bahrain for defaulting on an exclusive recording contract.

Amaznig - China tests 311-mph train after deadly crash

China has apparently tested a train with a top speed of 500 kilometers per hour (311 mph) despite lingering worries over the crash earlier this year of two high-speed trains that left about 40 dead.

Qingdao-based CSR Sifang, a subsidiary of train maker CSR, produced the six-car train partly out of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics, according to state media. The design was inspired by ancient Chinese swords. The train, some 200 kph quicker than China's fastest trains, is experimental. It was based on CSR's CRH380A, which set a world train speed record at 486.1 kph (302 mph) last year. The data from the test may be used for the expansion of China's rail network. The push is part of a national plan to build some 10,000 miles of high-speed rail linking large cities by 2020.Xinhua News said the super-train has a maximum tractive force of 22,800 kilowatts, compared with 9,600 kilowatts for the CRH380 trains running on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, which opened this year.China's cabinet has criticized the Railways Ministry for lax safety standards in the wake of the July accident, in which one high-speed train rammed another that was stranded on the track following a lightning strike. A cabinet report threatened prosecutions over the crash. The ministry lowered the speed limit to 300 kph from 350 kph following the accident. more info

Amazing - Chilli The World's Largest Bull

Chilli is a black and white Fresian bull, weighing a whopping 1.25 tons and standing at 6 feet and 6 inches in height. Abandoned by its owner on the doorstep of the sanctuary he lives in today, when he was just 6 days old, back in 1999, Chilli grew up to become the biggest bovine in the world, according to Guinness Book of Records. According to Naomi Clarke, manager of the Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Ferne, Somerset, the bull doesn't eat as much as the other cows and yet he outgrows them by far. He's also abnormally friendly and gentle.

You could say Chilli had a stroke of luck when he ended up in the shelter, because normally he would have ended up chopped into pieces and on the shelves of a meat market somewhere. Now he's 9 years old and the proud owner of the title "Largest Bovine in the World", nice going Chilli.'

Amaznig - Highest Glass Floor of the World in Chicago USA

If you're scared of heights, it may be time to look away now.

Not content with having the tallest building in America, the owners of Sears Tower in Chicago have installed four glass box viewing platforms which stick out of the building 103 floors up.
The balconies are suspended 1,353 feet in the air and jut out four feet from the building's Skydeck.

Fearless: Anna Kane, five, spreads out on the floor of the 10ft square box which is 1,353ft up

Spectacular: She also enjoyed amazing views out across the city

'At first I was kind of afraid but I got used to it', 10-year-old Adam Kane from Alton, Illinois, said as clouds drifted by below.

'Look at all those tiny things that are usually huge.' John Huston, one of the owners of the Sears Tower, even admitted to getting 'a little queasy' the first time he ventured out on to the balcony. However, after 30 or 40 trips, he seems to have got used to it.

Thrillseekers: The boxes jut out four feet from the building and were specifically designed to make visitors feel as if they are floating

'The Sears Tower has always been about superlatives - tallest, largest, most iconic,' he said.

'The Ledge is the world's most awesome view, the world's most precipitous view, the view with the most wow in the world.'

The balconies are 10ft high and 10ft wide, can hold five tons, and have glass which is 1.5 inch thick

Unfazed: Although some adults felt dizzy after experiencing the Ledge, children seemed to take it in their stride

Long way up: Even the floor of the platforms are glass - few were brave enough to look straight down

Inspiration came from the hundreds of forehead prints visitors left behind on Skydeck windows every week. Now, staff will have a new glass surface to clean: floors.

Architect Ross Wimer said: 'We did studies that showed a four-foot-deep (1.2 metres) enclosure makes you feel like you're floating since there's only room for one row of people, not two.'

The Skydeck attracts 25,000 visitors on clear days. They each pay $15 to take an elevator ride up to the 103rd floor of the 110-story office building that opened in 1973.

Towering: A view of the Sears Tower (black building in the foreground). The Ledge is on the 103rd floor

As the weather turns cold, and daylight becomes shorter, we begin to feel the Christmas Season approaching, and our hearts begin to glow with feelings of warmth, and goodwill towards each other.
Christmas is a time of beauty from the inside out. For a brief period, we seem to give ourselves permission to let go of all the little stressors that constraint us, and we open our hearts to love, to giving and receiving. It is a time when hearts are filled with joy, and minds are filled with caring thoughts much more than at any other time.

I love Christmas. There’s no other time of the year that excites me the way Christmas does, no other season that evokes in me warm, cozy childhood memories as Christmas does. I revel in the beauty of the season, in the colors, the aromas, and in the myriads of colorful twinkling lights that are  a celebration of life, hope, and all that’s fine, and good about humanity.
Christmas is simply a Magical season. It’s that time of the year when the air is filled with lively exuberance, when spirits soar in joyous merriment, and families and friends get together to share love and re-live old traditions..

This blog is dedicated to everyone who still gets excited, and is inspired by the wonderful magic of the Christmas season. For the children, it’s an exciting time, and for the grown-ups, we become children again. I hope that as you read these pages, you’ll feel the spirit of the Holiday Season stirring inside of you, warming your heart with fond memories, and  nice cozy feelings.

I invite you to make A-Magical-Christmas.com a place to get together during the Christmas season, to connect with like minded folks who love Christmas, and who feel inspired and transformed by its magic.

Perfume - How to Select the Right Cologne / Perfume

"A good way to take up more space, is with perfume" - Andy Warhol
The right cologne is a chemical reaction, from the time you splash or spritz it, to how it begins to gently react with the oils and pH of your skin, and eventually how a woman reacts to it. But this chain of chemical events begins much before, when you actually decide to buy cologne for yourself.

It's cologne, not a comb
It doesn't begin with the ride to the mall. Or even the lingering echo of the cologne you used to wear. None of that. It begins with your wallet. How much money you are willing to spend on smelling good. Go to the mall. Not the local gift store, where you can get ripped off with counterfeits, or disappointed with limited choice. And they won't get cranky if you take your time - which you should.

Skin Deep
For those who for some reason apply cologne to their clothes - don't. It will stain your clothes and wear off faster. And unlike cloth, skin deep can be oily or dry, which affects how cologne performs on it. Dry skin doesn't have moisture to lock in the cologne, whereas oily skin has affinity for the epidermal oil - just wear moisturizer beforehand.

Location, location, location...
Have money? Pick two colognes. There is usually a difference between colognes for day and nightwear. For the day, wear something crisp and cool. In a hurry? Pick up any of the 'sport' fragrances, which have a hint of spice. For the darker time of day, opt for the classics - something spicy, woody, and warm, yet subtle. If you can afford it, you can't afford to smell like your deodorant (not that day fragrances are deodorants, but it’s just an analogy), and how you want to smell for your girlfriend shouldn’t be how you want to smell with your coworkers.

Season
You sweat more in summer, and your pulse points can radiate off the cologne, atom by atom into the air. So wear light 'summery' scents, but avoid anything fruity, unless it's a subtle hint in a medley of more meaningful hints (like pine, woods, even tobacco) Vice versa for winter – you're covered up, and your skin is less oily - so wear stronger fragrances.

At the mall
Before you blurt out how much you plan to spend, be nice to the saleslady - a woman's opinion is good to have. Better is to take a woman along. Now get specific - state how much you’re willing to spend.

Don't immediately spray yourself with whatever you are offered. Reputed stores have blotter paper, or cards to spray the fragrances. Quickly eliminate the ones you don't like. Since all this smelling soon undermines your smell accuracy, have coffee beans or a cup of hot coffee nearby, which immediately refreshes your sense of smell.

Notes A fragrance has 3 notes - the top, the middle and the base notes. The top note is your initial impression of the fragrance, the middle notes is the lasting impression – it stays a few hours, before fading away into the base note. It is advisable to spray a perfume on a few cards, and walk around with them. If you are stuck with four - six fragrances, spray one on each hand (remember which hand!), walk around and come back in 15 minutes - when the middle notes have begun playing out, and eliminate. After narrowing it down to maybe four colognes, buy samplers. Take them home; try each out for at least a day - buy the bottle once upon finalizing.

While buying the Bottle If the box in which you get the bottle feels a bit soft, have it replaced - it's been handled too often. Ditto for a box with faded colours (it's been exposed to the sun, or UV light) or not packaged in shrink-wrapped plastic (it might have been returned by someone). If you can’t get a replacement, remember the name – you can buy it elsewhere - and leave.

An advisory on how to select and buy the right cologne or fragrance for men. The right cologne is a fragrance for men.
