It is a problem that leaves many women frustrated but scientists have given men an excuse for sleeping immediately after sex. Men cannot help but fall asleep straight after indulging in sexual activity because their brains are ordering them to do so, a new study has revealed.
In the research, scientists have claimed the male brain is programmed to switch off after orgasm. In contrast, women stay alert, so are more likely to be left staring at the ceiling in frustration. Men were scanned during and after climax and it was found that the entire cerebral cortex (the brain’s ‘thinking’ part) shuts down during orgasm.
Then two other areas, the cingulate cortex and amygdala, triggered the deactivation of all sexual desire. “These experiments give us the first hints as to what happens in the brain during orgasm,” Serge Stoleru, a French government-scientist, said.
“For women it seems to be different,” he said. Stoleru said that women do not have such a strong refractory period – which is a recovery phase when the body calms down. That leaves them wondering why their partners have lost interest when they want more of it.
Put check to Pains with Daily Sex
The one thing humans have not been able to beat is age and the other thing humans can never get tired of is sex. But when age comes into picture, the urge for sex is still active in mind but body doesn’t cooperate. And when it is old age, usually one has to deal with pains and aches than anything else.
However, a recent study has revealed that the best way to deal with pains during old age is by having daily sex. It is heard that one of the causes for the body pains is due to less sexual life as one crosses 50. The experts say this should be a daily habit and it will help check the pains in a big way.
Some of them clarify that by sex it doesn’t mean the complete intercourse. Even physical intimacy and spending long hours in that is good enough. If there is intercourse all the more better. Perhaps consulting a specialist on this regard would throw more light into this subject.
