This image
shows an ice cave on the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia. The cave was
formed by a stream flowing beneath glacial ice on Mutnovsky volcano; the
stream originated from the hot springs associated with Mutnovsky.
Glaciers on the Kamchatka volcanoes have been melting recently, so the
roof of this cave is now so thin that sunlight easily penetrates it.
